It was a long but rewarding day.

The beautiful weather and a great outdoor setting was enjoyed by 28 scouts. Each patrol prepared chilli from scratch and while it all was tasty, the Leadership Patrol and Cobra Patrol came out the judges favorite. A number of advancement opportunities also took place.
A group of 15 scouts completed the Pinnacles Rim-of-the-Bay hike on the 7th. Everyone enjoyed the Spring weather and were fortunate to see 4 of the 6 endangered Condors that have recently been released at the Pinnacles N.M. Read what our Historian had to say about the trip.

Pinecrest was the destination on the 10th & 11th for 16 scouts. They enjoyed a snow filled weekend of tubing, sledding, and snow related fun. A group of 6 intrepid hikers completed the Skyline-to-the-Sea trail hike started last year. "To the Beach or Bust" became their cry and after wading through the water, tip-toeing across the creek on both I-beams and logs, they saw the afternoon sun glinting off the ocean. Success.

November 2003 On the 8th we distributed Scouting-For-Food bags and then went back a week later on the 15th to pick them up. The Troop working with Pack 199 collected a record number of 5157 items, the largest number in the Mission Peak district. After distributing bags on the 8th we conducted a troop Junior Leader Training (JLT) class taught by the older scouts at Los Moches. This was an opportunity for the recently elected and appointed junior leaders to learn some leadership skills. After the bag pickup on the 15th a total of 13 scouts travelled to Los Moches for a one night Survival Campout. After unloading our gear we backpacked to our campsite and prepared for the rain which luckily never came. We worked on advancement requirements and threw some tomahawks.
