August 2009
July 2009 The troop took part in the Fremont 4th of July Parade. We took 2nd place in our division with our entry. Summer camp activities were the focus this month. July 5th-11th found 18 scouts at Camp Royaneh, while 17 scouts travelled to Camp Marin Sierra on the 19th-25th for a second week of camp.
June 2009 A year of end BBQ took place on the 15th to wrap up our troop meetings for this school year. One the 18th we gathered to distribute flyers to residents about the upcoming July 4th Parade informing them of street closures in the area during the parade. We held an Eagle Court of Honor for Alex Kwok on the 20th.
May 2009 One the 3rd we built and installed benches at Warm Springs school that were donated by the Warm Springs Rotary Club. The Skyline-to-the-Sea trail was our destination for a backpack trip on the 15th-17th. Good weather made for an enjoyable trip. Our drivers greeted us with cold drinks on the beach as we completed the trip.
We took a night off from our regular troop meetings and went bowling on the 19th for a change of pace. A joint Eagle Court of Honor for David Omstead and Sean Foo was held on the 23rd.
Keeping with our busy schedule we held another joint Eagle Court of Honor for Jonathan Tipton-King and Andrew Makk on the 30th.
April 2009 We went to Henry Coe State Park on the 4th and 5th for a Hobo Campout. After backpacking in a short 2 miles we enjoyed living for 2 days with a minimal amount of creature comforts. A Rim-of-the-Bay Hike took place to Mt. St. Helena on the 19th.
March 2009 We held an Eagle Court-of-Honor For Michael Kayser on the 14th. March 6th-8th found the Troop at Rancho Los Moches for a shooting sports campout.
February 2009 Welcome to Kyle from Pack 199 and Chris from Pack 125 who bridged into Troop 103 on February 27th 30 people took part in the Mystery Trip to Lake San Antonio on the 20th-22nd. We got to see Eagles flying and eating fish at a pretty close range. A side trip to Mission San Antonio allowed for a little California history. The rain luckily held out until after dinner on Saturday. Welcome to Jacob G., Elijah and Jacob H. from Pack 120 who bridged on the 19th and to Benjamin, Nicolas, and Jarra who bridged from Pack 112 on the 21st. May you all have many fun outings while in Boy Scouts. The troop took part at the Indoor Rally on the 6th. We came in 4th in the Compass and Rope Rescue events. There were over 15 units taking part in the event.
January 2009 We travelled to Los Moches on the 23rd-25th and hosted an enthusiastic group of Webelos on the 24th. We held an Eagle Court-of-Honor for Josh G. on the 17th.
December 2008 The Marin Youth Hostel was the destination for a stay on the 6th-7th. Side trips to the beach, light house, and old bunkers were the highlights of the trip. The troop took part in the Warm Springs Tree Lighting on Friday evening the 5th.
November 2008 On the 15th we collected a total of 7,448 items for Scouting-For-Food. A small group then went to Ed Levin County Park for a one-night campout in beautiful weather and an excellent Teriyaki Chicken dinner. After distributing Scouting-for-Food bags on the 8th the Troop's youth leaders travelled to Los Moches for Troop Leader Training. For dinner each of the four patrols that took part were provided a number ingredients. Each group used their creativity to prepare some great meals that the adults were invited to share. A little rain did not hamper or diminish the fun as everyone made banana boats for dessert.
October 2008 Mt. Diablo was the destination for those scouts working on the Rim-of-the-Bay hike series on the 26th. The troop attended the Halloween Camporee on the 17th-19th and the RM...... patrol took First Place in the "Leaky Bucket Race"
September 2008
The troop travelled to Camp Pollack in Sacramento on the 20th to 21st. We then set out on bikes to visit Sacramento. We toured the Military History Museum, the State Capitol, and the California History Museum. Troop 111 from Fremont was also at Camp Pollack and we played capture-the-flag with them after dinner and a joint camp fire.
