The 7th found us climbing Mission Peak as part of the Rim-of-the-Bay Hikes On the 1st we held our troop meeting at Great Jumps in Milpitas. A fun evening for a change of pace after our Court-of-Honor the previous week.

December 2009 On the 14th rather than have a Troop meeting the troop went to Aegis Senior Living in Fremont and sang Christmas Carols. 26 scouts entertained the residents with the spirit of the season. The Marin Youth Hostel was the destination on the 12-13th. A visit to the Nike Missile Base Museum and old WW1 bunkers were highlights of the trip. December 5th was a busy day. Winter Awareness Training was attended by 12 scouts while other scouts took part in the Warm Springs Community Tree Lighting event. We helped set-up booths, chairs, tables, and lights in the morning and returned after the event to take these items down and clean up. The troop also also had a booth at the event with a game for those attending to play.
November 2009 The troop took part in the annual Scouting-For-Food drive on the 14th dropping off door hangers and returned on the 21st for the bag pick-up. Working with Pack 199 we collected a total of 8,003 items for the Alameda County Food Bank. Lake Chabot was the destination on the 7th and 8th for a Canoe trip and campout. The weather was great and a good time was had by all.

The Moldy Pumpkin Patrol took 1st place in the Leaky Pumpkin event and the Pumpkin cook-off using dutch ovens. They also took 2nd place in the Spider Web event. The Tawsdnf Patrol took 2nd place in both Archery and Rifle. Our guess Webelos correctly guessed the number of candies in a large jar and the troop was treated to Ice Cream with the OA. Newly elected and appointed youth leaders attended Troop Leadership Training on the 5th.
